Anchor off the sand, tender in, and let lunch turn into the afternoon.
Pampelonne is five kilometres of pale sand on the east side of the Saint-Tropez peninsula, and the clubs along it were built to be arrived at from the water. We hold the table, anchor a hundred metres off, and run you in by tender — no car park, no queue, no walk in the heat.
The boat stays where you left it, which is the part people underestimate: when the music gets loud you are fifty metres from your own aft deck, a swim and a lie-down in the shade away from all of it.
The captain reads the morning and picks the side of the bay the wind is not on. If it is not right on the day, we go somewhere that is.
