Cannes is the western end of the coast and the gateway to the two islands that most people never quite get to. Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat sit twenty minutes offshore, and the water between them is the clearest on this stretch.

The bay itself is wide and shallow enough to anchor almost anywhere, and the Esterel behind it turns red in the late afternoon in a way that photographs badly and looks extraordinary in person.

During the Film Festival the anchorage becomes the best table in town.

Quai Saint-Pierre, Vieux Port. Port Canto for the larger boats. Boarding is at the pontoon rather than a desk, and the day starts the moment you step aboard.
